Foreign climes...
Now away in different waters, far from the the mystropolis, writing and working on a whole host a' stuff. As the festivities draw near, they seem an age away and in a different world.

Jimi, Mitch and Noel - ultimate experience
Just heard the sad news of Mitch Mitchell's death.
Mitch was an outstanding player whose prodigious technique fuelled The Experience with some wonderful playing. When I hear all the reverential bull*** about the Weckl's and Coluita's et al (who are little more than shed demolishers to me) I think of how such as Mitch was a far, far superior player who really listened and added, as opposed to banging out one long drum solo chops-for-chopsake pap.
RIP Mitch. Another supreme member of the great jam in the sky.

Money makes the world go round...
Don't know where September went. It's a blur. But now we're right in the midst of a pile of sh**.
Merchant banking apart (and Bush’s non-existent stewardship of the US economy, Iraq and the billions of missing dollars, let alone the overall cost of the war and the vast cheques Gordon's also written to keep up with George Dub’ya) my heart bleeds for these people. Banks have brought it on themselves. Anyone who has ever run a small business and been humiliated, ‘done over’ and treated with contempt by a moronic bank official will, I’m sure, be wearing a wry smile.
Making money’s fine. Nothing wrong with that. Good luck to whomever with it. It’s an art in itself (I think it was Michael Caine who penned ‘…I’ve been poor and I’ve been rich, and rich is better..’) However intellect is no key to amassing wealth. Far better to have that shrewd 'je ne sais quoi' factor which counts above all.
Banking is a dirty business. Always has been. Dressing it up otherwise is a nonsense, whichever way you look at it. It’s not in any way noble, fair or just. It’s about making money. Pure and simple. That’s it. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Which is why loans and yet more loan deals were showered round like confetti at the least able to pay.
I just hope the upside of this is that people won’t any longer, in any way, be reverential to banks and will go in n’ give’em a hard time.
Their incompetence knows no bounds along with their call systems and administration which are universally dire and designed to frustrate and obfuscate.
The Chairman and Board are just jobs for the boyz n’ girlz. Staff training is undertaken by so called ‘training companies’ who charge exorbitant fees and couldn’t even train a monkey to scratch fleas. Hence the appalling service.
Now as it is (ironically) they need you - as never before. You however don’t need them. Cash is king I say. And keep it under the bed. Much safer.
And talking of safe I see whilst the very mess he helped create gets more and more dire, St Blessed Of Tone continues with his 'Mid East Envoy' duties. Completely absurd.
Maybe the Middle East can all now sleep peacefully safe in the knowledge St Tone's on the case.
I don't think so.
Peace

Thinking...

Was thinking of new stuff for the band this morning. Up very early. Like the sun in the early morn. The stillness. And the birdsong. Before London really kicks in. That and the early wee small hours is when inspiration is most likely to strike. Rest
of the time, fergeddit! It's all graft people!
Onward!
